Come, Follow Me

Welcome, fellow traveler and pilgrim, to The Crossroad, which is always found at the corner of Now and Here - right where you are.

In this world as it stands in its appearance, this location may be mistaken instead for Nowhere. But there are different and far more inviting, although perhaps mysterious, ways to comprehend it, approach it, and walk the spiritual journey to which every human being is invited by the Lord Jesus Christ.

This Crossroad where we find ourselves is not for the faint of heart, yet it is for the world weary. It is the true road less travelled - an assignment which, if  you choose to accept it, leads to a glorious destination.

Since you have found your way to the corner of Now and Here, the intersection between time and eternity where we meet, it has to be said at the outset, that we make the effort to communicate about the Crossroad Jesus was pointing out when He said, "... If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?" (Luke 9:23-25)

This Crossroad, as you can see, is one of paradox, where saving means losing, where seeking to be advantaged means to be lost and to be cast away.

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." These also are Jesus' solemn words (Matthew 7:14), and they are not easy words to hear for any who take for granted the Grace of God.

"The Cross before me, the world behind me," is the line from an old song called, "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus". And this is exactly where we find ourselves! Right here and now. If we picture ourselves at an intersection, it's very much the pattern of the Cross.

These pages in the days ahead are intended to reflect, in a variety of expressions, what it means to walk this Crossroad with the Lord Jesus Christ. For the Crossroad is the path of discipleship, and it is destined to lead us - with the Holy Spirit's guidance, comfort, and wisdom - to an unimaginably glorious destiny!

Warning: On this site there is a lot of content for willing readers. There won't be much in the way of videos or communication shortcuts.

There may be things here that are not easy to receive. Narrow is the Way, said He, that leads to Life. The commitment here is to be based upon Holy Scripture alone.

It is the broad way that leads to destruction. So this is not a road for the faint of heart or the compromiser. Yet He promises to walk it with us - "I am with you always, even unto the close of the age." He sends His Spirit alongside and within us to comfort, counsel, and perhaps at times to confront as to what we need to release to walk the rest of the Crossroad. The goal is not only Heaven hereafter, but rather to understand that "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Shall we walk this road as companions together in Christ?

If so, then let us heed Him as He invites us,

"Rise up, let us go from here."

(John 14:31)
